Welcome to Black History Month!

1 02 2023

Welcome to a whole month dedicated to increasing your American history IQ!

Carter Godwin Woodson pioneered the celebration of “Negro History Week” in 1926, (second week in February), to coincide with the birthdays of Abraham Lincoln (February 12th) and Frederick Douglass (February 14th). That week of recognition has been extended to a full month and is now known as Black History Month.

Ever since 1976, every U.S. President has officially designated February as a time to celebrate and learn history related to Americans of African descent. History.com

Enjoy!
